What “counts” as a current event? Any “school-appropriate” event that has occurred IN a Spanish-speaking country. The event must have taken place with the 5 days PRECEEDING the day you give your report. Example: My report is due: Tuesday, Sept 1st. I can do a report on any event from. Thursday through Tuesday. Once an event has been reported on, you may NOT repeat that event unless okayed by the teacher! You must get the information for your report from cnn.com, omaha.com, or Omaha World Herald.
SUMMARY SHEET Read your article Fill out the summary sheet completely! Copy and paste your articles URL to a Word document and attach it to the summary sheet OR CAREFULLY copy it to the bottom of your summary sheet.
Oral presentation You will present your findings to the class on the day you signed up for. Your presentation is not timed, but all information is needed! Here is what should be included: Who was involved What happened Where the event took place When the event happened (date) Why the event happened Who this event may effect as a result
Oral presentation cont. After you give all of your information to the class, the class will have an opportunity to ask questions about the event. You must answer these questions as best as possible.
Grading your Presentation: Here is how you will be graded on your presentation: See your rubric! When your presentation is over, you will hand in your packet of information: the article, summary sheet, ½ page report, and rubric. Cut out or print off the article!
