Future Tense Used to indicate what is GOING to happen In Spanish there are 2 future tenses. You will learn the SIMPLE future
How to form: In Spanish to form the simple future, use: IR + A + INFINITIVE *Remember “ir” means “to go” voy vamos vas vais va van
Examples: Yo voy a comprar una camisa I am going to buy a shirt Ella va a comer la sopa She is going to eat soup. *Nosotros vamos a ir al gimnasio el lunes. We are going to go to the gym on Monday.
Be Careful *Nosotros vamos a ir al gimnasio el lunes. We are going to go to the gym on Monday. What comes after the “a” is not affected by the verb ir (i.e. – the verb ir can be in the sentence two times)
Ella va a ir al centro comercial. Vs. Ella va al centro comercial. What’s the difference? Ella va a ir al centro comercial. Vs. Ella va al centro comercial.
Practice They are going to watch tv Ellos van a ver televisión Julio and I are going to sing at one o’clock. Julio y yo vamos a cantar a la una. I am going to go camping with you. Yo voy a ir de cámping contigo.
