Getting to powerpoint. Go to your start menu. Go to all programs. Go to Microsoft office. Scroll down to Microsoft Powerpoint. Click on it.

Your screen should look similar to the one below.

Inserting a new slide. Go to home ribbon. Click on the upside triangle where it says new slide. That opens up lay menu that looks like this.

Which layout template should we use: When you see the template menu, click on the two content template.

Creating new backgrounds on powerpoint You have two ways you can do this: You can go to your design ribbon and use the designs given.

Or if you want to create your own background… Right click anywhere outside the boxes. You will see a menu that looks like this Click on format background

After you click on the Format background: You will see a menu that looks like this:

Inserting transitions for your slides Click on the animations ribbon.

Once you see the animations, move your mouse over the transitions Once you see the animations, move your mouse over the transitions. The transition will only become part of your slide show if you click on the transition. Make sure you tell your transition to go slow.

To change your picture’s size or moving your picture. To make your picture smaller or bigger simply click on your picture. When you do this, you will see some circle come up. Move your mouse to the circles drag your mouse(hold the left button down) in the direction you want to go. This will make your picture bigger or smaller.

To insert pictures Click on the clipart icon in the box. Then type in the type of picture you are looking for.

Then type what you want to a picture of in the box. Pick a picture you like. The picture must relate to the information on the slide.

Then double click on the picture you want and it will be automatically inserted into your slide. To delete a picture, simply click on the picture and press the delete button on your keyboard.

Moving your picture After you have clicked on your picture, move your mouse toward the picture. When you see a symbol that looks like this: simply hold your left button down on your mouse and move your picture where you want it on the slide. When you let go of the button your picture will be where you move it.

To view your slide show To view your slide show, simply press the F5 button on your keyboard. Then click your left mouse button to navigate through the show. You can also use your up and down arrow keys to go from one slide to the next.
