Mass Vs Weight

Practical You will be carrying out a practical titled „Investigating the relationship between mass and weight“. You will be using a newton meter to measure the weight of different masses. The newton meter will be hung from a clamp stand. You need to prepare a prediction, equipment list, labelled diagram, procedure and results table. Don‘t forget to include space for repeats and averages in your table!!!! Also: diagrams, results tables and graphs should all be done using a pencil and ruler.

Practical Calculate your averages and plot a graph of Mass Vs Weight with mass on the x-axis. Once your graph is complete, write a conclusion.

Choose 3 planets: make a graph of mass vs weight Object Mass (kg) Weight (N) Earth Moon Jupiter Mars Pluto Kitty 5 50 10 125 25 Me 60 600 95 1500 250 Popeye 70 650 100 1700 280 35 “Duck Walk” weight 130 1350 200 3300 510 65 ATLAS Stone 140 1400 210 3500 560 75 Strongest Man 2005 170 1650 260 4200 680 85
