Tropical Cyclones tropical cyclones thrive on the tremendous amount of energy in warm, tropical oceans many of them start over the ITCZ the Coriolis Effect causes them to turn counter-clockwise in the northern hemisphere as the moving air approaches the center of the growing storm, it rises, rotates faster and increases in speed
