Chapter 10 Parables

Jesus- one who is the source of all faith Holy Spirit- one who continually guides the Church to a deeper understanding of God’s message Apostles- people first taught by Jesus, who were commissioned by him to teach the Good News Dogma- a truth revealed by God that the Church officially defined as an article of faith

Parables- Stories Jesus told about familiar things to teach about the Kingdom of God Doctrine- a belief the Church holds and teaches Magisterium- means teaching authority of the Church Popes and bishops- those who are especially entrusted today to teach what Christ taught

Scripture, Tradition, and the teachings of the Church- the way we come t know the teachings of Jesus Truth- never changes Evangelization- the apostles handed on Jesus’ message through this ministry Lost Sheep parable- teaches that God loves sinners

The Persistent Friend parable- teaches that when God doesn’t answer our prayers right away we should keep praying The Mustard Seed parable- teaches that the Kingdom of God is spread everywhere from a small beginning The Pearl of Great Price parable- teaches that the Kingdom of God brings happiness

The Pharisees and the Tax Collector parable- teaches that we should not judge others The Workers in the Vineyard- teaches us that even if we repent at the last minute, God will forgive us The Wedding Feast- teaches us that the Kingdom of God is open to everyone The Sower – teaches us that God’s Word lives in some people
