The Legend of King Arthur

Introduction: In 1485 William Caxton published Sir Thomas Malory’s Le Morte D’Arthur. It was a story of knights in shining armour and their chivalrous adventures in a time of magic. This is thought to be the beginning of the King Arthur legend, although some people say that the legend came from earlier sources. The King Arthur legend involves various character archetypes such as heroes, knights, and damsels in distress. The stories of King Arthur provide an understanding of human experience, the journey from childhood into adulthood, overcoming obstacles, good triumphing over evil, identity, success, and many other themes relating to our lives. Copy the passage above into your books. Then research definitions of the words in bold and write the definitions in your books.
