AchieveNJ A comprehensive EDUCATOR evaluation and support system Teach – helps understand impact on learning and improve student outcomes Lead – leadership responsibilities with practices for the greatest influence on learning Grow – foster continual growth for all STUDENTS and EDUCATORS in New Jersey AchieveNJ, along with PARCC assessments and Common Core Standards form key elements to improve student achievement to close the gap for our children to compete in a global economy Better educator evaluations will improve teaching and learning so that all TEACHERS and STUDENTS perform at high levels

Student Growth Objectives SGO – student growth objective Annual, specific, and measureable academic goal for groups of students that are locally developed and assessed (ACHIEVABLE) Measures a students growth, NOT proficiency - “All students can show growth” COLLABORATIVELY set by the teacher and principal at the beginning of the school year Adjustments can be made while tracking progress before reviewing results with administrator

Student Growth Percentile SGP – student growth percentile Measures how much a student has learned from one year to the next compared to similar students across the state Growth baseline established by a student’s prior learning based on NJ Ask results Measures a students growth, NOT proficiency - “All students can show growth”

Benefits Increased and better professional conversation – during post observation conferences Better, more frequent feedback Reflect on practice – after observation ratings Impact on learning – by looking at student growth achievements; also promotes improvement Promotes more effective professional development - help meet staff needs for improved learning
