What are the properties of shadows? Activity 1C1 Page 10 16 June 2K+3

1. Talk to your partner How is a shadow made?

2. Investigation Point bulb toward wall. Examine shadow with object small distance from the wall. Draw a diagram to explain how the shadow is formed.

2. Investigation As you move the cardboard figure toward the bulb, describe what happens to the shadow. How did the size of the shadow change?

6. Instructors Investigation With one bulb 3 meters from the screen, examine the shadow. With one bulb 5 meters from the screen, examine the shadow. Any differences?

10. Investigation Examine shadow of cardboard using the sun as the source of light.
