Teachers choose an icebreaker to do as your “do now”. 2 minutes

You should be forming groups of 3. Pair Up! Locate two other classmates who are wearing the same color clothes as you are. You should be forming groups of 3. 2 minutes
Advisory Standards In your groups of three, on the piece of paper provided…. Your group should come up with 3 standards to be followed in advisory. Remember these are NOT Rules An example of an advisory standard could be: We will keep an open mind at all times. 5 minutes
Let’s Share! Now each group will share out the standards that they came up with. 5 minutes
Pick your Best! Now that you have heard all of the group standards, your group needs to decide on the one standard they would like to be displayed in the classroom. 5 minutes
Make it Official! We are now going to write down the one standard that each group decided they wanted displayed in the classroom. After all the standards are written down, each student needs to come and sign the big Post It. 5 minutes
Aspiration Cards Now that we have decided what advisory will look like, what are we working towards? Each student will be given a 4x4 square of card stock. In the center of the card stock they should complete the following statement: “I aspire to____________ because ________________.” After they complete the statement they will draw that aspiration or simply decorate their card stock . 5 minutes
