Benchmark Percents A percent that is commonly used, such as 1%, 5%, 10%, 25%, 50%, and 100%.

Commission An amount or percent of an item that is paid to employees or companies that sell merchandise in stores, or by calling customers.

Gratuity Also known as a tip, is generally a percent of the total amount of the bill given to show appreciation for a good service.
