Take out Loose Leaf Paper What is a bibliography? DO NOW: Take out Loose Leaf Paper What is a bibliography?

OBJECTIVE: Develop an Understanding of how to use BIBLIOGRAPHY PAGE.

Why do we need Bibliographies? So when we write our paper we can give authors credit when we use their information or quotations. We do this by using citations within the paper.

They must have: (we will discuss what these are in a minute.) Source Number- so you can label your notes Type of source. Authors. Date. Title. Publisher. Web page (if needed)

What does my bibliography look like? On paper with 2 columns With numbers in the top Left Hand column. Bibliographies in right hand column. Neat Different sources have different formats.

Now for what you have all been waiting for. The Format.

Books 1 Author (last name, first initial). Title. Place of publication: Publisher, Copyright Date.

2 Encyclopedia Name of author (if there is one). “Title of article.” Title of the encyclopedia. Year of publication ed. 2

Newspaper or magazine article Name of author ( if there is one). “Title of article.” Name of magazine. Date of magazine (month, year): page numbers (9-11). 3

4 Internet Site Author. “Topic.” Web page title. Date Accessed (day month year) <Website address> (www.blablabla.com).
