Eleanor Roosevelt’s Four Basic Rights October 19, 2015

Objective Cite the textual evidence that most strongly supports an analysis of what the text says explicitly as well as inferences drawn from the text.

Eleanor Roosevelt’s Four Basic Rights Primary Source (a document or physical object which was written or created during the time under study. These sources were present during an experience or time period and offer an inside view of a particular event.) Written in 1944 A response to Addie Frizielle

Read the article individually or with a partner Text dependent questions: Make sure you go back to the text and use text evidence to support your answers. According to Eleanor Roosevelt, who should enjoy four basic rights? What are the four basic rights? Define discourteous. What words from the text helped you define it? What is the main idea of Eleanor Roosevelt’s letter? What is Addie Frizielle upset/concerned about? Did Eleanor Roosevelt share these concerns? Use evidence from the text to support your answer.

Homework Decide on a reading book for your reading log. Make sure you have your book in class. We will set up our reading logs on THURSDAY!
