Revolution When an object turns around an external axis Example: Planets revolve around the sun.

Circular Motion Rotational Speed Linear (Tangential) speed Number of rotations per minute Linear (Tangential) speed speed of an object moving along the circular path

At the center of the rotating circle, linear (tangential) speed is zero But there is a rotational speed.

The rotational speed at points A and B are the same (they will have the same number of rotations per minute) Linear (tangential) speed is dependent on distance from center and rotational speed

If the car on the outside is twice the distance from the center of the circular track than the car on the inside than its linear speed is twice that of the inner car.

Circular Motion & Acceleration? If an object has uniform circular motion (constant linear and tangential speed) does it have acceleration?

Since the acceleration is dependent on both speed (which is constant) and direction, uniform circular motion always has acceleration.
