Scientific Method
Take out your notes from yesterday We will continue our notes on the scientific method.
Steps to Solving a Problem (The Scientific Method) Come up with a question that needs to answered Example: Why does the human heart sometimes beat faster? Do some research Example: Research heart rates and exercise Form a Hypothesis make a guess. Example: If exercise level increases then heart rate will increase. The hypothesis must be testable Do an experiment to test hypothesis Example: Measure heart rate of resting people and compare that to heart rate of exercising people Accept or Reject Your Hypothesis – “Analysis” Report Your Results – “Conclusion” Share your conclusion that answers the original question from step one with the scientific community so that your experiment can be repeated to confirm your results.
