Read “Rainforest” in BIG BOOK p.300-319 Read P. 320-321 ALSO USING the Home to Family Connection Sheets in the MEOW BINDER, do the COMPREHENSION SHEET with your child. Please SIGN THE COMPREHENSION SHEET and return in purple folder as COMPLETED HOMEWORK. On our reading test this week, the writing assignment will require the students to COMPARE AND CONTRAST. Please talk with your student about the difference between comparing and contrasting, and help them practice doing this with their reading assignment by talking about things in the story that can be compared/contrasted. For example, how is a rainforest different from the polar regions? What ways are they the same? What ways are they different? Please sign nightly to show that you have supervised your child’s homework. Please check written work. Please do not allow your child to sign for you, or sign in advance. Your signature tells that you have looked at your child’s homework assignments each night. Thank you! Tuesday, Jan. 10th PLEASE make sure your child is well-rested, well-fed, and ON TIME for school tomorrow. We will be administering the national exam for placement in the Gifted program on Wednesday, Read Alaska p. 262-269 in Little Book USING the Home to Family Connection Sheet in your student’s MEOW Binder, Do the WORD WORKOUT ACTIVITIES TOGETHER. Please sign the sheet and return in your child’s purple folder as completed homework. Wednesday, Jan. 11th Reading Test for Unit 4.1 Report Cards coming home TOMORROW if all goes as scheduled. Thursday, Jan. 12th New Unit – 4.2. Study Spelling and Vocabulary Words. Please review your child’s report card, SIGN, and return. I sent home one copy for your to keep and one for your to sign and return. Please call to schedule a conference, 706-302-3382. We are not required to conference this grading period, but if your child has an F in any subject, we need to chat. I will gladly meet at your convenience as to time and place.
