The Lorax Questions. How does the Once-ler’s thneed business hurt the environment? Instead of tearing down the trees, do you think he could have used a recyclable product to make thneeds? What recyclable product would you have used? The Once-ler says, “Unless someone like you cares a whole awful lot, nothing is going to get better. It’s not.” What does this statement mean? Can YOU make a difference? Describe some actions you could take to help the environment. Describe some ways that plants help the environment. Based on your answer, how would you convince the Once-ler to stop harming the environment? What would you tell him to do differently? If you had been in the Once-ler’s place, what do you think you would have done? Would you have continued making thneeds until the truffula trees were all gone?
