Cheer at KMS is…….. Promoting School Spirit Being a Leader on the field and in the classroom and hallways Being an ambassador of our school – welcoming, kind, encouraging. Growing Cheer specific skills and leadership skills to prepare for high school. Being part of a TEAM and working together to make great memories. Cheer at KMS is……..

Tryout Attire/Expectations: Arrive on time to each clinic, ready to work. Wear athletic shoes that support your foot. Pull hair all the way up in a ponytail. Very little or no makeup. No earrings or jewelry Sports bra in black or white. For Tryout Days, black shorts and white tee. Tryout Attire/Expectations:

Tryouts: District Guidelines Article VI: All clinics and tryouts are closed to spectators (parents, siblings, etc. may NOT be in the building) All candidates must fill out and submit the required forms in the Cheer Handbook and give to the appropriate campus personnel before the designated deadline. Any candidate not present at a clinic session is responsible for learning any missed material on his/her own time from other candidates rather than from clinic leaders or campus coaches. WHEN do we CHEER? Football Season Mondays are 7th Grade Games Tuesdays are 8th Grade Games Girls must be transported by bus to the field (Kpark or another HS) they cannot “meet us there” We end around 9:30pm. All squad members will remain until the squad is dismissed. Basketball Season Games are on Mondays and Thursdays and are shared equally between the squads. Games are always at KMS. Games are 5:15-7:30. Girls are dismissed by 8pm at the latest. WHEN do we CHEER?

What School Events do Cheerleaders Participate in? Pep Rallies at KMS – 3:15-4pm, 2-3 times a year. Helping out at the 6th Grade Cougar Camp and Orientation Humble Parade of Lights (first week in December) Pep Rallies at Elementary schools 2-4 times a year, usually in the mornings. Performing at our Welcome Pep Rally at KMS for incoming 5th graders in Jan/Feb. What School Events do Cheerleaders Participate in?

We do have to raise money for buses to take us to away games during football season and for any new team equipment, etc. that we may need to purchase. We will need every girl to participate (it is not optional) and we will need parent help and ideas. ☺ We will abide by ALL Humble ISD and KMS policies for fundraising and handling of money at all times. We will do an annual Clinic for younger girls as our largest fundraiser, usually in OCT or NOV - all hands on deck! Fundraising

Cost CAMP COSTS UNIFORM COSTS $200-270 for a Home Camp Camp is Mandatory. Field Uniform = $520 Camp Wear Costs (this is also practice uniforms) = around $300 TOTAL: $820 Cost

Section A: Each candidate is responsible for purchasing their practice clothes, shoes, camp, etc. Section B: Summer Camps are required for all squad members and payment is due on or before the designated due date. *Please note that if a member is removed from the team, no refunds will be made and all financial obligations already incurred must be met.* Article IX

Important Dates to Know: March 19th – Signature Portion of Info Sheet due to Coach Wells, Room 607 & Physicals due to Coach Enderle. Tryouts:  Clinic = April 1,2, and 3 (4:00-5:30) Tryouts = April 4 & 5 (4:30-??) April 8, 5:30-6:45pm - 2019-2020 Cheer Squad Parent Meeting (for those who make the squad) April 12th - Camp Payment due on RevTrak. April 15th - Uniform Fitting, 4:30 - 7:00, Room 404 & Camp Wear Balance Due on RevTrak May 1st– Uniform Balance paid in full through Varsity Payment Portal. Important Dates to Know:

Turn in bottom of Cheer Tryout Sheet and Principal Evaluation Form to Mrs. Wells, Room 607, by March 19th! Turn in completed 2019-2020 Humble ISD Physical Form to Coach Enderle in Athletics. Mark payment due dates on calendar and be prepared. TO DO List:
