What does this mean for Higher Education Providers? Messages to students will need to change: HEPs should be considering a pre-departure awareness-raising campaign and a 'keep warm' strategy to maximise returns Staff will need to understand the new survey and new processes HESA will issue guidelines on minimum contact with graduates: Is that enough for our institution? What else do we need to do? How will it work in practice? What are the different areas of responsibility and who will lead on these?

Students Calls to action: “Please answer the survey” “Please keep in touch with your contact details” Key messages: When you will be contacted How you will be contacted Who will contact you Purpose of the survey

Staff Calls to action: “Keep good contact details for graduates” “Promote the survey to students” Key messages: Facts about the survey process Purpose of the survey Who is co-ordinating the survey at the HEP How and where to update contact details

External HESA record contact Survey contractor contact Send contact details Receive survey data

A different way of managing the survey Careers Service Planning Alumni Student Records

Discussion points What are the next steps for our institution? What is our 'keep warm' strategy? Who will be leading on this? How can we most effectively manage the survey? Who needs to be involved? Who else do we need to tell and when?
