What is a SWOT A strategic planning method used to evaluate a project or business venture. YOU must first start by defining a desired end or objective.
SWOT Strengths: attributes of the person or company that are helpful to achieving the objective(s). Weaknesses: attributes of the person or company that are harmful to achieving the objective(s). Opportunities: external conditions that are helpful to achieving the objective(s). Threats: external conditions which could do damage to the objective(s).
Questions to ask Is the objective attainable after doing the SWOT? What are the barriers to success? Can we control them? If it is NOT A different objective must be selected and the process repeated.
Activity You must identify a goal for yourself Conduct a SWOT analysis of yourself to determine if you could reach your goal
Vision/Mission Statements Goals and Objectives
Mission and Vision for SRHS
Example: Sometimes Businesses will refer to these things as: Their Philosophy. It is the same idea, at the end of the day they are the company’s guiding principals.
Goals and Objectives Organizations use these to help them achieve their Mission and Vision Statements. Goals and Objectives are used to help the organization improve and move towards their main driver. SRHS uses the SIP (School Improvement Plan) to help drive us towards our Mission and Vision Statements. Businesses don’t provide these readily on their websites because they would be part of their strategic planning processes.
