Job-keeping Skills Use correct grammar Report to work on time and when scheduled Be prepared to work when you arrive at work Practice teamwork Promote a positive attitude Accept responsibility Be willing to learn new things

Letter of Application (Cover Letter) Usually contains three to four paragraphs. State your purpose for writing and express interest in the position. State why you feel you are qualified for the position. State that you are including a resume`. Close letter with a request for an interview.

Resume` Should contain the following: Personal identification Employment Objective Educational background Work experience Skills Other activities References

More on Resume`s Honesty is always the best policy. Never give false information. Always get an individual’s permission before using that person as a reference. References should be professional in your field, teachers, clergy, or others in responsible positions.

Completing Job Applications Read entire form before attempting to write on it. Follow instructions for completing (print, type, etc) Do not leave any areas blank (use “n/a” if something does not apply to you). Use black ink and make sure handwriting is legible
