Water in the Atmosphere. States of Matter Water vapor – gaseous form (0 to 4% by volume) Water – rain, dew, clouds, fog Ice – snow, hail, clouds.
Relative Humidity. Humidity  the measure of the amount of water in the air  high humidity =lots of moisture in the air.
Seasoning Seasoning is the reduction of the moisture content of wood.
Concept of Humidity What is the relationship between water vapor holding and temperature? Air hold more water vapour at higher temperature.

Keywords Equilibrium Hygroscopic Kiln Relative humidity Stickers Timber seasoning

Definitions Equilibrium ; (noun) - a stable situation in which forces cancel one another. Hygroscopic ;  (adjective) - absorbing moisture (as from the air). Kiln ; (noun) - a furnace for drying wood. Relative Humidity ; (noun) - the ratio of the amount of water in the air at a given temperature to the maximum amount it could hold at that temperature; expressed as a percentage. Timber Seasoning ; the drying out of timber to a moisture content of 20% or below.
