Organizing a Process Think of a project you can teach others Have a finished product Have examples at different steps to show how it should look Have all materials or ingredients and materials measured and ready to use Have your paper written out Have a video camera with a tape that is compatible with our VCR V8 player Make a sign that indicates your topic and name

Writing the Process Paper Use the MLA template in my digital locker Have at least five paragraphs Introduction – One paragraph – establish CP Development Paragraph two – gather materials – mention CP Paragraph three – Step One – how this forms CP Paragraph four – Step Two – how this forms CP Conclusion – one paragraph – restate CP Include graphics

Introduction Method: Question Transition: Answer Thesis statement: The process of _____ in order to ____controlling purpose____ involves __step one__, ___step two__.

Developmental Paragraphs One Topic sentence – In order to make ___ so that ___ the ____ must gather the ___ materials. List all items need and their exact amounts Emphasize the need for them in order to prove the CP

Developmental Paragraph 2 through however many steps the process needs Topic sentence: Give name of step (combine ingredients, sand something, put parts together, fold paper), mention process, and have a key word for the CP Give the tasks in order Have a clincher sentence at the end.

Concluding Paragraph Describe a scene in which the object is enjoyed.

Prepare for Taping Watch a televised cooking show to see how the show is arranged Have an area to perform your process Have items for use laid out as they will be used Write out on index cards what you want to say in front of each item Have someone available to tape the process Rehearse the presentation to work out any problems Remember you need to prove something unique about your method of doing this process. That is the CONTROLLING PURPOSE.

Tape the Show Tape the paper with your show’s title and and your name , include those who help you. Give your show a great name. Have it relate to your task. GREET your audience and tell the topic of your show: Emphasize the CP Tell the ingredients, items needed; relate the CP Tell step one and demonstrate Tell step two and demonstrate and so forth Conclude with the finished product. Focus on the CP If it is food then you may bring to class and share.
