Quality of Life Quality of Life- The degree of overall satisfaction that a person gets from life. What three characteristics determine a person’s quality of life? Physical Health Mental Health Social Health

Wellness Wellness- A broad view of health that is seen as the combination of physical, mental, and emotional health. Wellness cannot be achieved by someone unless they realize that all three aspects of health (health triangle) are equally important to their overall well-being.

Illness-Wellness Continuum What is a continuum? A gradual progression through many stages between one extreme and another.

Illness-Wellness Continuum

Illness-Wellness Continuum Illness-Wellness Continuum- is a model that illustrates the full range of health between the extremes of illness and wellness. Each person’s overall wellness (physical, mental, and emotional) is marked by some point on the continuum. Individuals can move in either direction on the continuum. Moving themselves closer to illness or wellness. Individual choices controls where a person falls on the continuum.
