Announcements Short quiz on Friday. Homework packets due on Friday.

Agenda Radiation, conduction, convection Frayer models Demonstration Indentifying the ways

Why? Radiation, conduction, and convection play a large role in our weather patterns. Will help us transition into learning about the layers of the atmosphere.

But first… a quick song! http://www.teachertube.com/viewVideo.p hp?video_id=159713

Radiation Energy that travels distances in the form of certain types of waves.

Conduction Transfer of heat energy from one substance to another by direct contact.

Convection Transfer of energy from place to place by the motion of gas or liquid.

Labs Today we must be really, really safe. In your groups of 4’s, you will be working on the lab together. This lab will help you understand conduction and convection.

Independent work Complete the rest of the sheet on your own. Raise your hand if you have any questions and need help.
