FRED: Johnny & Cassie will explain how FRED works Afterword, FRED will live on my desk!

FRED: When photos are taken for the spread, sign off on it. When photos are uploaded for the spread, sign off on it. When photos are edited for the spread, sign off on it. When photos are placed and tagged for the spread, sign off on it. When captions are completed for the spread, sign off on it. When lead story is completed for the spread, sign off on it. When the spread is completed, have another student approve it. When you fix the issues the first student suggested, let the EIC know. When you fix the edits that the EIC suggests, get it signed off and let Ms. Webster know.

Weekly Grade: Summative For 4th quarter, 3 of your summative grades will be your 6 spreads. Due dates are as follows: Spread 1: page 1 & 2 Due to EIC: March 10th (last 1 quarter grade!!) Due to Webster: March 24th Spread 2: page 3 & 4 Due to EIC: April 14th Due to Webster: April 21st Spread 3: page 5 & 6 Due EIC: May 5th Due to Webster: May 19th March and April Newspaper articles will be your other 2 summative grades.

Weekly Grade: Formative Each Monday (or first day) you will set weekly goals. You will do this tomorrow On Friday, you will grade yourself and reflect on your week. Your formative grade will be based on your reflection and how you completed your goals.

EIC Grade The EICs will be graded based on their edits/approvals and the 2 spreads they are required to complete. They will also reflect each week.

Incentives: If ALL students work hard during the week: On Fridays, after everyone completes an honest reflection, we will do a team building activity. Last year, these were a blast, so please WORK during the week. My account on Walsworth allows me to easily see who is working and what each of you have accomplished during the week. I will use this to grade you, so make sure you are logging in and WORKING

Theme Has Been Selected!! To The Core! This means all spread designs should be pulled from this category or To the Core Express! No other theme should be used!

A Different Approach Use the Second Coverage packet and add some sort of second coverage that will make sense with your spread. When finished, turn into bin! Tomorrow, we will begin working on spreads.
