Spread of Nationalism From 1830 to 1848, Nationalist revolutions broke out over Europe. They failed to bring governmental changes. Eventually, nationalism would lead to unifications and the splitting of nations. France lost power, while Britain and Prussia gained. France overthrows next absolute monarch, they elect the nephew of Napoleon and he took the title of emperor.
