What is the Philadelphia Convention?

This is a loose union of states with equal powers.

What is the a Confederation?

This government order, created in 1787, was a plan for adding new states to the United States.

What is the Northwest Ordinance?

In November of 1786, this group of angry farmers made people realize that they needed a stronger national government.

What is Shay’s Rebellion?

Delegates from every state went to this state to represent people’s interests at the Philadelphia Convention.

What is Pennsylvania?

The men who attended the Philadelphia Convention were given this name because they organized and wrote the U.S. Constitution.

The framers wanted to keep their discussions at the Philadelphia Convention private. Therefore whatever was said at the meeting would remain this for 30 years.
