What is a myth?

October 20 Greek Stories. Greek stories consisted of legends, myths, and fables. The purpose of these stories was to tell of character traits the Greeks valued, but also to tell warnings of punishments for not obeying their gods. Myths in particular, include an origin of something in nature and explain the world around them, along with the valuable character traits and punishments from the gods.

Today you are going to learn 2 myths: Pandora’s Box and Daedalus and Icarus. While listening to the myths, you need to write down: 1) Character traits the main human in the story showed 2) the moral of the story 3) what the Greeks were most likely to have learned from this story.
