Lesson 6: Inverse of Matrices (part 3) Accel Precalc Unit 3: Matrices Lesson 6: Inverse of Matrices (part 3) EQ: How can you use the determinant to find the inverse of a matrix?

Part III: Using the Determinant to Find the Inverse Given Matrix A has an inverse A-1 iif det(A)  0. WHY? CANNOT DIVIDE BY ZERO!!

Ex. Find A-1 using the determinant. CHECK YOUR ANSWER!!

CHECK YOUR ANSWER!!

Since det (K) = 0, there is NO INVERSE for matrix K. 3) What does this mean? Since det (K) = 0, there is NO INVERSE for matrix K.

ASSIGNMENT: Practice Worksheet 4.3 #13 – 18 Solve for the inverse using determinants.
