Famous Americans Third Grade

Best known for: being a patriot in the American Revolution. Paul Revere Best known for: being a patriot in the American Revolution. He is most famous for his midnight ride warning the colonists that the British soldiers were coming. 1735 - 1818

Character Traits: Revere valued liberty, (or freedom). He worked diligently for America’s independence from British rule. Paul Revere 1735 - 1818

Frederick Douglass Best known for: being a slave who escaped, became an abolitionist, a writer and adviser to Presidents. 1818 - 1895

Frederick Douglass Character Traits: Douglass demanded equal treatment when he spoke out against unfair laws. This showed freedom of conscience and expression. 1818 - 1895
