Do Now Notebooks out Warm Up: What resources would an early human civilization need to be successful?

The big question: to what extent would an agricultural society have an advantage over a pre-agricultural society?

What is tomorrow going to look like? 2 different collaboration groups. First group will start the work of answering our question, separating arguments and facts into pro and con sections. Second group will continue where the first group left off.

Contributing: You need to show that you: The answer to a question. Help DEVELOP OR help RETAIN The answer to a question.

Contributing: Official Jobs Facilitator: makes sure the collaboration moves in a useful direction. Mr Best for the first collaboration. Recorder: puts notes on the board to be the official record. Will need 2 for each collaboration group.

Contributing: Official Jobs 2 Mapper: draws a “conversation map” to collect data on distribution of conversation. 1 per collaboration group

Contributing: Unofficial Jobs Major contributors: make significant contributions to the dialogue. This is the most important role. Everyone should strive to fulfill this role.

Contributing: Unofficial Jobs Fact checker: volunteer to look up facts, statistics, or other information. Inquirer: asks questions like: Where do you see that in the text? Does anyone else have something to say about that? That was interesting. Could you go into more detail?

Reading Make a t-chart. As you read, record advantages and disadvantages of an agricultural society. Advantages Disadvantages
