Presentation transcript:

Explorer Caricature Poster You are going to choose one of the following major people in the Age of Exploration and create a caricature of them. You can choose from any of the following people: *Christopher Columbus *Henry the Navigator *Bartholomeu Dias *Hernan Cortes *Ferdinand Magellan *John Cabot *Amerigo Vespucci *Montezuma *Francisco Pizarro *Samuel de Champlain Steps: Draw a caricature (cartoon/picture) of your explorer-this should not just be a stick figure! Your caricature should represent characteristics of the time period (ex. Their clothing, weapons, etc. should be accurate to the time period) On the drawing, include all 5 senses through pictures and labeling: What are they touching? What are they seeing? What are they saying? What are they smelling? What are they hearing? On the back of your paper, write a short paragraph (3-5 sentences) explaining why your explorer is important. Use relevant historical details! You can complete this activity using your class notes, worksheets, and chapter 18 (p. 380) of the textbook!
