Warm Up Objective: Scientists will describe the brain by researching a disease, disorder, or injury of the brain and altering their model. 1. What is the topic? 2. What will you be doing? 3. Why is this important? 4. How will you know if you have done well?

Warm Up Objective: Scientists will describe the brain by researching a disease, disorder, or injury of the brain and altering their model. 1. What is the topic? brain 2. What will you be doing? Research, alter model 3. Why is this important? Understand more about the body, future career, brain controls everything! 4. How will you know if you have done well? Able to describe the brain and completed work

Model (Part 1)—11/19/18 Create a model of the brain. Include as many parts as possible. See a list of the parts of the brain on the back of your sheet. Note, this clay and the tools were donated to us through a DonorsChoose project. (Thank you, donors!!) The clay is reusable! Wrap in plastic wrap to avoid mixing in the storage box. Write 1-4 words about the function of the parts of the brain. Write how you represented that part in your model.

Model, Part 2 Research a disease, disorder, or injury of the brain. You may consider: Strokes Brain tumors – look at specific types like DIPG* Phineas Gage case study Injuries or lesions on specific locations, such as the occipital lobe Meningitis Multiple sclerosis Answer the questions. Alter your model.
