Factory Conditions Industrial Revolution  Factories  Jobs Many factories employed large numbers of children children had always worked from local families or orphan apprentices Overseers were paid to watch over the children The more the children worked, the more the overseer was paid

Factory Conditions Benefits of employing a child: Negatives: Children were paid less than adults Smaller & more nimble “on-the-job training” Negatives: Cruel treatment from overseers Underpaid No education

Child Labor We’re going to start by looking at the working conditions of children in factories. Use the primary sources to complete the tasks in your notebook.
