1 Mento vs 2 Mento Hayden Gray 12/4/14

Scientific Question What will the be the differences between using 1 minto and 2 mentos?

Background I picked this experiment because I like it when stuff blows up. I would also like to taste the mento after the experiment. Also i enjoyed doing it in class.

Hypothesis If i test one mento vs two mentos then think the two mentos is going to have double the reaction.

Variables independent: the location of the experiment Dependent: the ingredients in he soda controlled: the amount of mintos,the type of soda,and the amount of soda used

Procedure Get two two liter dr peppers, Then i got 3 mentos, test two of the mentos, then record the results then do the same thing with one mento.

Data The soda with two mentos did the best.

Conclusion What is the difference between one mento and two mento? I put menots in a two liter popbottle and watched the different explosions. In my experiment I saw that two mentos did better. My data matches my hypothesis. It does because I said two mentos would have the biggest explosion and it did. I learned that more mentos makes a bigger explosion. Next time i will put the bottle on a surface that can be cleaned easier. The soda made a mess and it was hard to clean.
