Warm-Up In your notebook… Come up with some ways that you could show the following in a graphic novel. Think about comics and ABC, and then use your imagination! Sleeping Profanity Death Running Pregnancy…and the event leading to it… Having an idea

Rough Draft Sketch out every panel on notebook paper. Plan for size and shape of panels, the order, the text, etc. DO NOT spend a lot of time on details. DO NOT color. TIPS: Important Scenes = Bigger Panels Use “splash page” panels to show setting, emotion, etc. Use captions as a narrator to give background info. Make your panels a variety of shapes and sizes
