John Proctor had the option to save his own life, if he would simply sign his name to a document that stated that he was guilty of witchcraft. Why did he refuse to sign this document and allow himself to be hanged instead? What do you think of his decision?

Exposition: The main characters, setting and conflict are introduced. Rising Action: The events of the plot begin to unfold. Climax: The moment of highest emotional intensity, where the conflict of the plot is resolved. Falling Action: Loose ends are tied together. Resolution: With all loose ends being tied up, we are left with a sense of peace / finality.
