Tips for Research

Day 1 – January 15 Get to know your person General research on who they were and what they did Create a hypothesis – did your person have a more positive or negative influence on US society today?

Day 2 – January 16 Start more focused research/notecards Focus on the required elements of the paper (look at the outline!) Enter sources & notecards as you go along – do it correctly now to save you time later!

Day 3 – January 17 Continue focused research Look at outline – are you covering all the requirements? Add number of notecards DUE at end of class: what theme are your focusing on, what are the positive & negative impacts?

Day 4 – January 18 Continue researching When you think you are ready, start writing your paper. As you write, you may realize that you need more research. Go back at that point and find what you need.
