Students will be able to calculate given percentages of increases and decreases of a quantity using the academic vocabulary increase, decrease, percent, and ratio. STANDARDS By the end of the week, students will be able to solve one-step equations. By the end of the week, students will be able to show how effective drug prevention programs can teach kids of their age on how to prevent using drugs and other substances that cause harm to themselves. By the end of the week, students will be able to solve problems involving percent of change. ESSENTIAL QUESTION Why is it important to know how to integrate your math skills to solve real life problems? Why is it important to know the effects of drugs, alcohol, and other harmful chemicals? Why is it important to be able to know how to calculate percentages? HOMEWORK CPM Check Point problem 9B, problem 9-79, page 460. Copy and answer all six problems. Show your work!
