Presentation transcript:

March 23rd-27th: SPRING BREAK (No School) Week of: March 16 - March 20, 2015 We’ve Been Busy! A Look at Next Week… This week in our Phonetic Connections curriculum, we focused on the /w/ sound. We practiced rhyming words, writing and reading CVC words. We continued our study of the 7 continents by visiting Europe. We wrote facts about Europe. Also, we discussed how we might catch a leprechaun in honor of St. Patrick’s Day. We completed an interactive writing describing our traps! In math, we discussed and practiced building teen numbers 16 all the way up to 20! We were so glad to meet with you at conferences this week. Thank you for attending! Reading: South America Phonics: /Ll/ Writing: Facts about South America; Facts about Sloths Unit Studies: South America Math: Introduce Subtraction Important Dates Words of the Week March 23rd-27th: SPRING BREAK (No School) April 6th – 24th: School Day will be extended to make up snow days. School begins at 7:58 and will dismiss at 4:10. bag, dad, let, lap, lid, lip Sight Words: review What Can You Do at Home? Enjoy your Spring Break and we hope that you return refreshed and ready to continue learning! To keep skills sharp, you can always be on the look out for sight words around you, listening to and reading books, and writing. We are including a writing assignment in your child’s folder. They are to write about something they did over Spring Break. Remember, you may help if needed, but THEY need to do the writing (and it is okay if it’s not perfect!).
