Differences of education

English differences We’ve searched out the differences from English and Dutch schools We wrote an Email to an English school to ask about some differences

________such as:_________ school uniforms lockers snacks and warm food in the cafeterias school buildings school times subjects gym uniforms social areas

Differences: School Uniforms: School uniforms are required in most of the schools in England. In the Netherland it’s not required to were a school uniform, only at very strict schools.

Lockers and food lockers: In England they may decorate their own locker. Here it is a privilege to do that, and most of the time against the school rules. snacks and warm food I think it has to do with the health of the school. In the Netherlands we are very strict about the food we eat. We have more rules and we do more about the Drive five. In England they don’t.

School building and school times Of course the schools in England are bigger. They have a higher population then us. Netherland is a very little country with not very much people. England may look small, it is certainly not. School times The school times are different. In England they start earlier and end earlier so they can spend more time at home for their homework and other thing.

Subjects and PE Subjects In England they have more subjects like: Citizenship(It’s about politic), Geography, Music(In Netherland we don’t have Music anymore after the second grade), Some English school have Religious Education and Career Education   PE In England all the kids have the same PE(Physical Education) suite. But not all the school have the same suite it depends on what school you are.

Last but not least: Social areas In England they have more Social Areas like a library were you can study and do your homework and some colleges have a cinema and some food restaurants at their campus. I think that is because the larger school buildings. I wish we had those things in Netherland.

Conclusion: We both like the English school better! Because it is larger and has more classes and snacks.
