Desired Career with Qualifications For as long as I can remember, I’ve always wanted to work with teenagers. I’ve been told that it takes a special person to do this. I want to teach Middle School Language Arts. This would entail planning lessons and teaching several classes a day. I’ll have to meet with parents and grade lots of papers. Practicum experience under certified teacher Bachelor’s Degree or higher with major in Middle Grade Education with Minor in subject-area. School of Education Program Sheet EDEE 325: Language and Literacy Development This class focuses on studying the development of language and the reading process from early development to adulthood. EDEE 377: Reading/Learning Strategies 2-8 This class focuses on how to teaching reading strategies to children in grades 2-8. EDEE 515: Middle School Organization and Curriculum This class focuses on how middle school is organized in their programs and what curriculums are most effective for the developmental level of middle school students. Theorists are stressed in this class. EDEE 409: Meeting the Needs of Diverse Learners This class focuses on the psychology behind diverse learners and how to accommodate their needs. This course also include an intense study of different learning styles. EDEE 459: Clinical Practice For a full semester, the intern is placed with a teacher in one of the public schools and fulfills the requirements of a classroom teacher.
