LA Morning Work At four minutes past midnight in 1989, the supertanker Exxon Valdez ran aground in Prince William Sound, Alaska. Over 11.2 million gallons of oil were spilled. What does aground mean? What is a supertanker? Why are oil spills a problem? Have there been any oil spills since the Exxon Valdez?
