The top panel is for smokers of all ethnicities, and the bottom panel is for non-Hispanic white smokers. Data are from the National Health Interview Survey (NHIS). Responses from proxies are not included. The 1992 data were adjusted by imputation to account for missing values caused by skip pattern errors.
