This is a fully plated suit of knights armor This is a fully plated suit of knights armor. Suits began to show up as chainmail armor was used less.

Knights armor was very expensive at the time and was used to show the wearers wealth and to impress the ladies.

A fully plated suit of armor weighed around 100 pounds and was hard to move around in.

During battle, this caused the wearers to not only be fighting the enemy, but also their armor.

Plated armor was also used on horses, even though it probably slowed them down.

The evolution of longbows and light armored troops during the hundred years war, over whelmed the knights, and ultimately defeated them.

Overall, with all of these factors, knights faded away as a social class, and a military unit.
