Essay Writing

How to Make Your Essay Better: Does your thesis statement have the 4 ingredients? Name Poem’s Name Poetic Devices Theme Introduction: Is a plan for what you will talk about for the rest of your essay. Meaning What could you have done better/ proud of? Choose your quotes!!!

More Check Ins: Topic Sentences: These are the first sentences in your paragraphs and they should “answer” the question of your paragraph. OR generally tell us what the topic is. Ex. The poetic devices that McKee uses contribute to the meaning of the poem by creating vivid language and establishing an uplifting tone. Quote Use: Never leave a quote hanging. Always make sure that you have a lead and then a follow up. Body Paragraph 3: It will sound like a critical review of your own work. Ex. McKee should have used more precise language to enhance the imagery that she began to create in the first stanza.

Conclusion: Do not use “In Conclusion” Finally Poetic devices and theme are inextricably bound…. NEVER USE “I”
