Elections  HB 1201 Provides clarification for timing for recall elections.

Eminent Domain HB 1207  Provides provisions for attorney fees awards in eminent domain proceedings.

Finance and Taxation HB 1066 Creates airport infrastructure fund, city infrastructure fund, and county and township infrastructure fund. This bill is commonly referred to as the prairie dog bill. HB 1356 Increases bidding and engineering thresholds for construction of public improvements. HB 1435  Provides for State Interoperable Radio Network (SIRN) funding.  SB 2275  Provides for essential infrastructure revolving loan fund. SB 2276  Provides legislative intent for collaboration between Bank of North Dakota and the state investment board on investing legacy fund principal to support community infrastructure priorities and economic development programs.

Public Safety SB 2304  Allows cities to set traffic fines at rates higher than are in state statute.  

Other HB 1193  Provides that a political subdivision cannot regulate living wage within its boundaries. HB 1200  Prohibits city from regulating auxiliary items such as plastic bags and straws. HB 1282 Provides that public employer may not ask about a job applicant’s criminal history until the applicant has been selected for an interview. HB 1286  Provides changes to criminal and civil forfeiture laws.

Defeated HB 1182  Provided that an assessed value of property cannot exceed 3% from the previous year. HB 1210  Provided for provisions allowing citizens in extra-territorial zone to vote on whether to be included in extra- territorial zone. HB 1289 Required spot check of property assessments by certified appraiser. HB 1307  Provided language requiring special assessments to meet requirements related to improvement being a special benefit to the property. HB 1375 Added provisions about declaring political parties to political subdivision elections.

Defeated HB 1379  Provided for system of referring political subdivision budgets to public vote. HB 1380  Provided 3% property tax cap. HB 1390  Provided provisions limiting assessed value and limiting property tax levy.  SB 2166  Provided for increasing the liability limits for political subdivisions.
