Baking Science English Essentials

Your English Professor John Erskin You can call me Professor, Teacher, or John. If you want to be more formal, you should call me Professor Erskin or Mr. Erskin. Do NOT call me Mr. John.

Where are you from? Born in Garden City, Kansas. Came to Korea from Knoxville, Tennessee. Came to Korea on June 28, 1998. How long have I been in Korea?

Where do you live? I currently live in Sintanjin Dong, which is about 12 kilometers north of Woosong College. I have lived in Sintanjin since 2012. It takes approximately 40 minutes to drive to work.

How long have you taught at Woosong? I have taught at Woosong since April 2014. I have taught in the Baking Science department since 2015.

Do you speak any other language? No. I do not speak any other language. I am what is known as a monoglot. I have studied both Japanese and Korean, but never became fluent in either language. I speak English. Do You?

What do you do in your free time? My hobby is photography. I bought my first DSLR in 2016. I also like watching television and traveling. Traveling is expensive, so I don’t travel often.

Who is your favorite celebrity? I don’t have a favorite. Some celebrities I like are: Female Male Jason Statham J.J. Abrams Samuel L Jackson Dennis Quaid Quentin Tarantino Keira Knightly Blake Lively Danielle Panabaker Ksenia Solo Morena Baccarin

What is your favorite movie? My favorite movies are the Star Wars movies. My favorite television series is The Game of Thrones.

What are some things you don’t like? I don’t like seafood or canned coffee. I also don’t like black coffee. I hate cigarette smoke and the smell of soju. (I don’t smoke or drink alcohol.) I dislike lazy people and people who are not punctual. Companies I don’t like include Facebook and Apple. I dislike horror movies and reality shows. I am not a sports person, so I do not watch sports on television.

A few other things. I am not married and have no children. I live alone and like it that way. I was born September 4th, 1954. I will be 65 years old this year.
