Day of a Child Laborer Workday began Wake up at four o’clock Run/walk to factory Eat breakfast on the run
Children received a 40 minute lunch break. This was the only break for the 16 hour work day. Children usually became drowsy. How did they stay awake? Overseers whipped them.
No break allowed for an evening meal. Day finally ends for boys after a 16 hour day. Day finally ends for girls. They had to be at work just as early as the boys.
